• Facilitate programs and services such as health and wellness, job training or      transportation
• Develop a resource directory of local social service agencies and providers
• Assist participants with applications for benefits and entitlement programs
• Save taxpayer dollars by helping residents age in place and remain living      independently in their own homes
• Advocate for adequate, timely and cost-effective provision of services

For seniors and disabled adults, service coordinators assist in accessing needed supportive services to allow them to:

• Maintain      their independence and remain in their homes
• Avoid premature admission to more costly institutionalized care

For low-income families, service coordinators provide assistance and access to community-based supports, skills training and resources. They also work with the adults in the family to develop a plan of action to assist them in:

• Achieving      greater economic security by linking them with programs to improve their      literacy, job skills, education and money management training

At AROS our Therapeutic Activity Coordinators assist Participants with reaching their full potential.

Our coordinators organize person-centered activities and engagements that meet the needs of the Participant while supporting both their physical and mental wellbeing. 

Our activities coordinators don’t just engage with participants to create the most suitable activities programmed for their needs and enjoyment, they also oversee the activities taking place including any staff and volunteers who are involved. Arranging adequate and appropriate staffing for activities, events and outings is a priority, as well as ordering any supplies required. 

Therapeutic Activity Coordinator will:

• Building a rapport with Participants and talking with them about what activities they may enjoy.
• Organize activities that are tailored to the needs of the      Participant, making any reasonable adjustments as required to help support      participation. 
• Provide group and individual activities such as Arts and crafts, Singing and music activities, Games nights, Movie night, Theme parties, Book clubs etc.
• Booking external entertainment, outings, transport, etc. 
• Being on hand to set up and tidy away when activities are taking      place.
• Helping the Participant and service users to engage in active participation through helping them to socialize, maintain relationships and enjoy an inclusive life.
• Making sure all environments being used are safe and appropriate.
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Having responsibility for managing budgets.

Each AROS Participant receives assistance with carrying out a bucket list goal. We encourage all Participant to enjoy life.

A bucket list can Include anything you like. List travel destinations, health, finance, or relationship goals. It can be as long or as short as you want. Really, if you can dream it, you can do it.
